At Show Up Better, we believe a different kind of politics is possible: one that rejects hollow, transactional engagement and puts genuine human relationships at its heart.

The best political organizing focuses on building community: first among organizers themselves, and then where they live. It is done neighbor to neighbor, face to face, in every season. It focuses on the joy of gathering, connecting, and collaborating. It puts the needs, aspirations, and capabilities of the community at its center.

For us, organizing does not start or end with elections. Electing great, pro-democracy candidates is critical and one of our focal points; but our primary purpose, always, is to deepen relationships and build stronger communities. When those ingredients are in place, voter turnout and electoral success come naturally.

At Show Up Better, our methodology and support programs are designed to create space for this kind of politics and to support the people engaged in it.
